Just over 2 weeks to go and the final touches are being put on the nursery…
Wow, I started this post back in January and I never quite finished it. I posted on a link on Inspired Domesticity’s Facebook to the Project Nursery post I did (see the Project Nursery post here), but have been meaning to post sources for the nursery inspiration here. Another blogger recently contacted me about using some pictures of O’s drawer’s, which had me re-inspired to finish this nursery reveal post. Even if it is 4 months late. So here goes…
Like many other bloggy ladies I thought I’d do a nursery reveal, including all our sources. It was really a collaboration of a bunch of Pinterest ideas. I listed all my inspirations below. But first, to start off with a few BEFORE pictures.
Mirror- IKEA KOLJA Originally we were going to put this mirror over his changing pad, however there will probably come a point where he no longer uses that. For now he is low to the ground and has been working on tummy time. We decided to install the mirror under the windowsill to the left of the side table and his book stash. In the mornings we sit in front of the mirror- He LOVES looking at his reflection. As he gets better at raising his chest and sitting up, this should be a prime viewing spot to see the baby on the other side of the mirror.

I think we’re really happy with the way O’s room turned out. We spend alot of time there in the mornings and evenings where he’ll have plenty of room to grow into it. It’s not too theme-y and very neutral. I think the room makes me happy and as he gets older we can add in more child centered decorations. I definitely got overwhelmed at times trying to make sure everything coordinated without being too matchy-matchy. It didn’t bomb on Project Nursery and is holding steady at 3.9 out of 5. Not bad, I’d say.
The best part is that we budgeted $1,400 for the room and put it together for less than half that. DIY, IKEA, and very generous relatives can pay off. =)
A huge love filled thank you should go out to my husband for helping put everything together AND especially for him helping me to avoid a complete pregnant melt-down in the middle of Fabric Depot by helping pick out fabric for O’s nursery accessories. Thank you to Maegan at 6433 Creative for designing one of a kind prints based on a couple of far fetched inspirations. And thank you very much to Nana for the crib and to KT for the awesome baby monitor.
Comment me some links for your nursery or favorite room designs!
